Frances Bavier was so good in her venture with the great Keye Luke as
Charlie in that chinese restaraunt.A long way from Charlie Chans Nu.1 son in
the 30s and 40s to the tiny hamlet of Mayberry.Aunt Bee shines with her
smile then becomes a befuddled victim of the fortune cookie curse. She's
gracefully bouncing around with delight in this episode. Her character has
great range tonight. Floyds Barber Shoppe Floyd is supreme here. Dave
Ketchum advising Howard on raising the rent $15.00. is a good one with my
good friend George Cisar as Cyrus in the barbershoppe when Floyd learns he
will stay on. Not for long because in the near future Floyd will go from the
Raffle mixup to a quick retirement. And again note Floyd in the car talking
to Andy. Floyd sitting on the passenger side when hes the only one in the
car.?WE know why because of the camera range between both actors. And he
slides over to start up the car only to not be seen taking off.We know why
too. But Floyd is always our dependable player. All smiles at the end. only
in Mayberry./Finally this side note regarding Barney Comes To Mayberry. The
last scene of Aunt Bee in reflection on the porch, thinking lovely thoughts
of a kinder time when Barney was with her and all of us. If the writers
didnt know how to properly end this episode (as it appears) with Andy
walking away look at Frances passive eyes as she ponders the past. Her eyes
glitter. Thanks Allan and everyone for allowing e to share a few intimate
thoughts. Bless you all.Tom Kessel Col.Tims Protege Reject
