I've spent the last hour or so skipping through a Kris Kristofferson film from 1976 entitled "Vigilante Force." It wasn't much of a movie (at least, not the parts I actually watched) but what made it interesting was that one scene was filmed in "Mayberry." What I mean is, it is believed that this movie was the thing ever filmed at 40 Acres before the lot was bulldozed. It's very strange, and also sad, to see how the place looked like in its final days. Everything was an absolute shambles; the hotel, the courthouse, the drugstore, even the church. A lot of stuff gets blown up with bazookas and hand grenades, and obviously nobody cared because the whole place was about to be demolished anyway. Anyway, if you've a mind to, you can watch this entire movie (rated PG) online for free at this link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075393/ There are only about two minutes filmed in "Mayberry" (called "the old ghost town" in this film), beginning at about the 1:21:45 mark. --Paul Mulik _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
