As we quickly approach Christmas I am sure many of us will be watching the
wonderful Christmas Story episode. This brought to mind a few other subtle
references to Christmas scattered throughout various episodes of TAGS.
Andy telling Opie and Barney that he had gotten an erector set for Christmas
one year when he was a boy.
Emma telling Ellie she shouldn't expect her to buy her cotton balls come
Christmas time.
Andy telling Barney he wasn't Santa Claus on a street corner when he was
ringing the dinner bell for Malcolm.
Andy telling Aunt Bee a fight at the Darling's started when one of the boys
told another one there wasn't a Santa Claus.
Aunt Bee telling Opie that they knew he wanted a tool chest for Christmas
because he left his composition "What I Would Do If I Had A Tool Chest" out
on the table.
I also ran into a snag with my Darling C&D plans. City safety commission is
questioning my security plans. I was planning on having Asa being the night
watchman as well as my having a mean old bull tied up outside the inn. I
didn't want to make a moulage of it but I did submit my plan in writing.
Also there is a question of my having upstairs rooms. Seems that they have
to be single occupancy rooms. But I think I can get around that by putting
a long strong rope under each bed that will be placed by a window. I didn't
think I really needed to put that into my written plans.
