Tonight on tvland they had Goobers Contest.Besides Howard McNears most famous exit line look upon other things for the scene of Floyd crying to Andy regarding the "Fraud i charge fraud." clearly you can see Howard McNear reading off a cue card what with his deteriorating health so obvious by now. Not once does he look Andy Taylor in the eye as he gripes about Goober. This is brilliantly staged. in reality no way would one look off in the opposite direction while trying to strike home a point. i love that scene. Floyds classic "Free Foam Rinse as you all know is my favorite floyd line so aptly played out in full lface with the crew knowing this was Howards last appearence."Let me put the virbrator on those neck muscles " and "Kindly remove your hand" says it all to a fine grand actor going out in style. Lastly:earlier this week, Howard the Comedian (You know my all time favorite along with Family Visit) was on twice as is customary on tvland these days.Did you see me as i waved off the stage like a little kid all charged up as i strolled behind Col.Tim with Agnes Jean Babcock soon to follow? And Floyds classic one liner "Is he calling me a big mouth ?" Since Im the only one who personally knew the col, its a funny episode but I wish Howard would get the Col's name right. Capt.Tom? No .In closing thanks King Dennis Beale for doing my interview with Vincent Barnett in the Mayberry Minutes. Well done.I only wish Vinnie was still with us.
