Several famous writers were quoted on the show. Most of the time Andy did the
quoting. Let's see how many we can think of, and I will start when Andy quoted
Shakespeare when he told Opie the story of Romeo and Juliet. Then he later on
quoted from Ralph Waldo Emerson's poem "The Concord Hymn" when he told the boys
the story of "the shot heard round the world".
Orville Hendricks - Butter and Egg Man - I often quote H.G. Bohn to my boy
Evan - "An idle brain is the devil's workshop".
