News from the "Malcolm Merriweather's Merrymakers of Merry Old England,
Arkansas USA" chapter (Rick Hyde, founder and head Goober):

After being inspired by an episode of TAGS while enjoying popcorn and pop, Rick
Williams, Rick Hyde, and Chris Hallum were the big winners recently as they led
the men to victory in the quarterly "Andy Griffith Show Trivia Contest." The
"Carter Men" regained possession of the fan club's "A Feud Is A Feud" trophy
from the "Wakefield Women" and will try to retain it at the next meeting on
Sunday afternoon, April 11, at 3:00 at England, Akansas First Baptist Church.
The public is invited to attend. (The winning answer: "Where did Laura Lee
Hobbs work?" "At the dimestore" as mentioned in episode 102: "A Black Day for
Mayberry" November 11, 1963. Andy says to Barney, "Well, you and me and Laura
Lee Hobbs are gonna be there to meet it (the gold shipment truck)." (Pictures
of the trophy and information about the chapter are at
