Ken, I've been out of town and just catching up on the digest. I hope your
reunion with your old friend went well. Your digest post reminded me how lucky
I am to have the friends I have. I am part of a group of 5 friends who have
been close since high school. We graduated in 1973 and all have stayed in the
same general area. We have remained close through the years through marriages,
divorces, births, deaths and everything in between. Our wives are all friends
and that helps the 5 guys remain close. I am reminded often by others how
lucky were are to have remained close for over 40 years. A couple of the guys
play guitar and we love to get together and sing together. After each
gathering we always sing the same song last, an old Carter Family song, "Will
the Circle Be Unbroken". One night a few years ago, one of my buddy's wife
asked me, "Did you ever think 40 years ago you guys would still be friends
today??" The only answer I could give her
was, "I never thought we wouldn't be".
