I have been remiss in not mentioning the town I live in - Wylie,TX. I believe it was named after the Wiley's, just someone didn't spell it properly. Mrs. Wiley said to Andy that she's been to a great many places, so I figure before settling in Mayberry she and Mr. Wiley came through Texas. They were so well regarded that a town was named after them.
