Folks are always asking me how I got to know so much about The Andy Griffith Show. Well, I'm going to let you in on a little secret that I've never mentioned in all the years I've been a part of this group.
When I was a boy in the mid 1960s, I spent a lot of time on the Desilu studio sets, because Frances Bavier was my grandmother. She used to bring my older sister and I down to the studios on days when they weren't filming, and we practically had the run of the place. Sometimes we even got to play with Ronny Howard and some of the other kids. We'd play checkers in Floyd's barber shop, go into Andy's office and pretend to lock ourselves in the jail cells (the doors didn't have real locks, of course), and once and a while we'd even sneak over to the Star Trek sets, which were just one soundstage over, and play on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. I guess that's why I still love both The Andy Griffih Show and Star Trek even to this day. Paul Mulik P.S.
