"Hey, Mayberry friends. This is for the Mayberry "techies." There are at least
two episodes which have scenes that are reversed or mirror images....There may
be more, but how and why did this happen? I'm thinking maybe poor editing, but
there was very little poor work in TAGS production. I'm sure someone has an
idea, so help me out.<<<

Well, Larry, I'm no expert on these things, but I'll hazard a guess. As far as
I know, the editing of film involved physically cutting the original film (to
remove anything extraneous to the scene) and then splicing together the desired
segments to create a new "whole" piece of film. So I would think that after a
piece of film had been cut but before it was spliced to another piece, the
strip of film was accidentally flipped over so that the emulsion side was up
instead of down. That would have resulted in a scene appearing reversed on
screen. (I can't think of any reason why this would have been done
deliberately.) Then, I would assume that duplicate copies were made of the
original film so that thereafter the reversal became permanent. Can anyone
more knowledgeable verify this?
