I recently read this online.... The scripts used during Jack Burns' time on the show as Deputy Warren Ferguson were originally written for Don Knotts' Barney Fife. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm sure it's not true for the episode where Barney comes back to Mayberry and Warren idolizes him. ANDREA
