>>>While watching "Stranger in Town" this morning, I got to thinking
about people
who lived in Mayberry who only appeared one time on Andy. In this show,
there
was Lucy Matthews and her brother Bill. They had big parts in this
show, but
were never seen again. Then there were the Merry Makers of Moonshine,
The
Morrison Sisters. You would have thought that if these people lived in
town we
would have seen them again occasionally in the next 8 years<<<<

There have been some good answers to David's Question, and I'm not as
sharp on remembering things like "the King of Mayberry" and Mike "The
Scamp" are, but I am going to go back to the original observation of
David's. I think this episode features more "one-time" Mayberry people
(those who appeared to live and work there) than any other. In
addition to those he mentioned, there was George Sepley who owned the
gas station prior to Wally, Mrs. Buntley, Jason, Pete ..and the other
Floyd and or course Ed Sawyer.

My old joke from a few years back was that Ed Sawyer kidnapped all these
people, took them away and started his own home-town called
Sawyerberry...and that, David, is why we never saw them again. He and
Lucy are very happy together and Had a Son named Tom.

The Untrained Voice
I can't help it, my mind just works that way
