I just finished a memoir written by a female disc jockey from NYC.  When she
has to move to North Carolina to care for her aging mother, she definitely goes
through culture shock.  During the three years that she is there, she begins to
watch TAGS with her mother.  Eventually, she takes her Mother to Mt. Airy for a
day of exploring.
There are familiar references from TAGS in her memoir.
The name of the book is "When I Married My Mother: A Daughter's Search For What
Really Matters."  The author is Jo Maeder.
This NYC gal was like the Bill Bixby character, who had too much big city in
him and learned some valuable lessons from the folk in Mayberry.
