I saw a couple of neat "Mayberry" sightings while checking out assorted DVD
materials via Netflix over the past several weeks. (1) I saw Aunt Bee in the
spectacular western "Bend of the River" starring James Stewart. This 1952 great
is shot in glorious color with lots and lots of beautiful outdoor scenery. Aunt
Bee plays the part of a married woman in a wagon train heading out to Oregon
country from Missouri. A small part overall but she has some speaking parts and
delivers them in that bossy and firm tone like she does as the "warden" when
she's dealing with Otis at "the rock". This is the first time I ever saw Bee in
Technicolor pre-Mayberry! Super cool! Also, Julie Adams (county nurse Mary) is
in this movie too. She looks awesome in living color!

(2) While watching season 3 of The Untouchables, there was a car chase scene
that passed by the courthouse going in the direction towards Floyd's. Clearly
in view as the cars went by where Floyd's would be, you see the small grocery
store and it's name is Crowley's! (you see the name "Crowley's" letter
stenciled on the front door!)

As I continue to view DVD's thru Netflix (especially TV productions from
Desilu) I will keep my peepers open for a Mr. Schwump sighting (lol!).
