I travel around a good bit as a consultant and I have spotted a gray four door
Ford exactly like the one that Andy drove on Matlock.
It sets rotting away in a lot and probably could be had for a reasonable
price. It occurred to me that the folks at the Andy museum might want to obtain
this vehicle, clean it up and put it on display there in Mt. Airy somewhere.
Just a thought. It is probably not a unique car, but seems to be an exact
replica
(year, model, color, etc.) of the car used in the Matlock TV series. I don't
think much
would have to be done to it, although my guess is it is not in running
condition.
It just caught my eye as a fan of both Matlock and TAGS...
My purpose for writing is to ask you to forward this e-mail to the powers
that be at the Andy Griffith Museum, etc.
Or send me an e-mail and I will send the note. If anyone is interested, I can
take a picture and e-mail it along with checking on the condition of the car,
if it is for sale, etc.
The car is in Gladewater, Texas, in East Texas, about 120 miles east of
Dallas.
