I would classify a spin-off a spin-off, no matter if writers and producers are
introducing new characters on an established series just for the sake of
spawning another (i.e. 'The Danny Thomas Show' to TAGS/'Happy Days' to 'Laverne
& Shirley'), OR an established series transforming into another after a long
run, a la TAGS to R.F.D./M*A*S*H to AfterM*A*S*H.
