I believe that in the episode where Aunt Bee unwittingly worked for the counterfitters, as they were trying to get away, Andy grabbed Barney's gun and shot out their back tire.
I also remember Andy threatening Gomer when he found a car in the courthouse, that he was going to take a gun off the rack and shoot him, but he never did.
