The peepers of this here trained noticer in training spotted a notice in the
paper today!

A Happy 86th Anniversary to Lil Orphan Annie cartoon strip read the headline. I
immediatley had to get the bucket out! Wanted to be dang sure, so it was a big
bucket! Now, in episode 100, or 99 depending on who's counting, in Sermon For
Today Andy is reading the carton strip to Opie. Opie asks how old was Lil
Orphan Annie. Andy says "Oh, about 42, 43." SFT aired during the 1963-64
season. Using the adding machines down at the bank, and they're gooooood
machines, that puts the timetable for that storyline squarely in the middle of
1966 if you use Andy's first estimate of 42. You can deduce the rest...... I
say give Andy a pass as he might have just been guessing. Either way they sure
brought the show up to the current year, or there abouts, even though they
liked to claim that it was set in an early era. Curious, curious....that's all
I'm saying.

Happy Anniversary Lil Orphan Annie!

Harriet, the not so lil chicken thief
......"Johnny Paul Jason says chewing tar is good for your teeth"..."That's an
old wives tale"...."Johnny Paul ain't married"........
