yes, was a bit common back in those days. whenever you would need to push or
be
pushed, you would want to make sure the bumpers matched up evenly. if they
didn't, there was a good chance one would slip up or down and hence lock up! i
remember though, that it seemd to work quite well, if one of the cars had the
driver trying to go forwards (or backward) at the right moment to actually
unlock them while being bounced on...
