One of the things that makes TAGS so unique and special is that we are
welcomed into the homes and places of work of so many Mayberry folks. We
enter the homes of Andy, Barney, Helen, Thelma Lou, Otis, Floyd, the
Darlings, Mrs. Mendlebright, Elenora Poultice, Mr. O'Malley,
the Scobies, Mrs. Wiley, John Masters, Quiet Sam, Peggy, nurse Mary, Emma
Brandt, Jenny and Fred Boone, Rafe Hollister, and I am sure a few more. We
also enter the courthouse, Floyd's Barber Shop, Walker's Drugstore, the
diner, Fred Goss' Cleaners, Mr. Foley's Market, Mr. Crawford's Drugstore,
the bank, Weaver's, the beauty parlor, Mrs. Lukens's Store, Wally's Gas
Station, All Soul's Church, the doctor's office, the hardware store, Elmo's,
the Mayor's Office, Howard's Office, the city council office, the Mayberry
Lodge, the Mayberry School, and I am sure there are more. We got to know
all of Mayberry and not just a few sets. I believe this is what helped make
Mayberry such a real place to all of us. We became part of the town which
indeed helped each of us to become a real Mayberryite.
