I just learned that "Barney of the Midwest" Mick Kieffer passed away on August 23rd. Some may remember Mick because he had a wonderful Mayberry squad car and museum that he traveled around the mid-west (mostly) sharing the Mayberry spirit. Mick dressed as "Barney" and enjoyed sharing his joy for life and genuine kindness wherever he traveled.
Mick had been ill often in recent years but he always had that love of people and The Andy Griffith Show that shown through all he did.
