Well folks my squad car is all tucked away in the garage for tonight. I am
so happy with it. It got so much attention on our 189 mile journey home.
Even got some waves and smiles from "real policemen". We came upon a
serious car accident and were held up for quite a while why EMT's were
trying to remove an injured person from a vehicle. Lots of police around
but they just waved us through and smiled. I have to tell you folks what a
great experience it was purchasing the car from Bob Dewitt. He went above
and beyond what the average Joe would do when selling a vehicle. He not
only drove the car as far as Wisconsin because he knew about my driving
limitations, but he also included in the sale the beautiful Mayberry Union
High Letterman's jacket, two Mayberry coffee cups, a box of Mayberry trading
cards, and about 1000 junior Mayberry Deputy Sheriff stickers that I can
give to kids. What a wonderful gentleman he was. We had exchanged "many"
emails during our transaction and he answered all my questions very quickly
and honestly. I learned two things from this experience. If you want to
get a great deal on a super car you have to buy it from a Mayberry person.
And the other thing I learned is that there is definitely no Mrs. Lesch in
Bob's family. He had just the right amount of grease in the steering
column, the radiator was full of water, no parts fell off on the way home,
and there was no sawdust in the differential. All in all it was just a
great experience. I hope to have some pictures on my Website within the next
day or so.
"Lots of luck to you and yours."
