Most singers would object if you told them they weren't musicians, but anyway, Doodles was the narrator for some Spike Jones routines, most famously The William Tell Overture (story of a race featuring a horse named Feetlebaum, and the source of the "Cabbage by a head" quote). He did actually sing on several other recordings, such as The Man on the Flying Trapeze and April Showers. In these, he would start to sing but get the lyrics all confused, with hilarious results.
