I am sitting here thinking about all those lucky people who are at
Mayberry Days and wish I were among them. At a car show the other day I
talked to a man from Eau Claire whose daughter in law operates a beauty
salon on Mt. Airy's Main Street. Her name is Tweet. Wondering if anyone
who has ever been to Mayberry Days knows of her.
Regarding poor Horatio: On October 31 Deputy Ken will be doing two
presentations at our church for Stewardship Sunday. Our church has 2500
members and we are having a big breakfast. Stewardship committee wants me
to worship in uniform that day and then do a stewardship presentation after
each service based on "Opie's Charity" and poor Horatio. That should be
great fun.
I forgot to mention early that when I bought my squad car I got it home
and was checking it out. I opened the trunk and guess what I discovered.
No jack at all. Old Goober would really enjoy that. My wife and I got a
real laugh out of that. Only problem is I am now having trouble finding an
old jack that will fit the car.
