In the episode where Opie has a crush on Miss Crump, Andy (before knowing who the older woman was) mentions that he also once had a crush on an older girl. She was in upper fifth grade and he was in the lower fifth grade. Now I know schools had more than one grade in the same room, but I've never heard of varied degrees of a grade. Can someone 'splain it for me?
