Hey, Mayberry friends. The quote about Dewey taking Manila was in "Andy
Discovers America". In the first scene, Andy, Opie and Aunt Bee are at the
breakfast table discussing Opie's new teacher (Old Lady Crump) and her history
homework. Aunt Bee comments, "There's more of it (history) these days. A lot
has happened since Dewey took Manila." Andy replies, "did he take it?" Also,
Barney explains the Emancipation Proclamation as only he can. Later, Andy tells
Opie and his friends about the "Shot Heard 'Round the World". Andy suggests
forming a history troop with the boys and Barney says "Will you help us? I mean
them." It's so funny, and one of my favorite episodes.
