Wow. Talk about having a Mayberry week. I switched cable companies and found
Mayberrians all over my TV.
Mabel Albertson(Howard Sprague's mother) was seen "Little House On The
Parairie" and "Gunsmoke"
William Schallart(Quiet Sam Becker) was seen On "Little House" and "Simon and
Simon"
Jay Novello(Mr. Neil Bentley) appeared on "McHale's Navy"
Denver Pyle(Briscoe Darling) and Jim Best(The Guitar Player were) on "Dukes of
Haazzard"
Buddy Ebsen(David Brown) as Jed Clampett on "Beverly Hillbillies"
Dal McKennon(creator of Seth Taylor statue) was in an episode of "Daniel Boone"
Barbara Eden(Ellen Brown, manicurist) on "I Dream Of Jeanie"
Mabel Albertson played the part of a grandmother to a killer grandson..on
"Gunsmoke". Her last name was Beasley. Wonder if she was related to Gomer.
William Schallert was a con man on "Simon and Simon", a small part.
But I realized after seeing all these Mayberrians in these various roles it
enlightened me as to just how fine these actors and actresses really were.
These are all shows I didn't get from my previous cable supplier, so you can
imagine how excited I was to see all these wonderful folks again. Can't wait
until next week to spot some more of the folks who lived in and visited 'The
Friendly Town" of Mayberry.
Have a great Mayberry weekend folks
