Preliminary plans are being made for a big Mayberry event in Walhalla, SC (in the NW corner of the state near GA & NC) April16th, 2011. Several tribute artists are slated to attend including The Mayberry Deputy", David Browning, Allan "Floyd" Newsome, Phil "Ernest T." Fox, Gary "Gomer" Crain, Jeff "Howard" Branch, and others TBA. (Budget of course dictates how many we can include). An evening concert is scheduled with the VW Boys along with a parade that morning, a cruise in, pancake breakfast and evening dinner, a veterans salute and lots more. The Walhalla City Council gave it's enthusiastic approval this week and a meeting is scheduled next week with the Downtown Merchants Association.
