I spent 25 yers in the Army Field Artillery. As a result my ears are shot and
I now receive Army disability. I am reminded of this every time I have to tell
Martha to repeat what she just said. There is no shame in not being able to
hear as well as everyone else. If a person lives long enough, they are
eventually going to be handicapped in some area. And while there is no shame
in being handicapped, there is no glory in denying the truth. To pretend a
handicap does not exist in not helping anyone.
When you watch Seasons # 5,6, and 7 of TAGS you would have to be blind (another
handicap) to not see that Floyd cannot use his left arm. This is not to demean
or shame Floyd, it is not his fault that he had a stroke. But it is my opinion
that the show would have been better if the producers would have just admitted
the truth and worked Floyd's handicap into the show instead of trying to cover
it up. There are millions of handicapped people in America contributing greatly
to this country every day. That is my opinion, and everyone else is entitled
to their opinion, no offense to anyone.

Orville Hendricks - Selling Butter and Eggs. When I started playing golf they
asked me what my handicap was. I told them it was I could not hit the ball
very far.
