"It makes me wonder about our Digest Family. How many of you continue to live
in or near your hometown where you grew up?"
Ken: As you know from our emails, I not only live in my hometown but recently
moved back into the house I grew up in to take care of my ailing mother. I have
been in this town for all of my 58 years except for 5 when I was working on one
of my graduate degrees. Then I was only 2 1/2 hours away and got to visit
often. Many of my fellow students teased me about being homesick at 31 years
old and that my hometown must have streets paved with gold. They called it
"paradise!" They really couldn't believe it when I chose to remain another year
after finishing my degree! They swore I would show up at the graduation
ceremony with my car packed. All of that kidding didn't bother me and I was
glad to get back home in 1988. I told the Lord if he would just get me home I
would never leave again! And I haven't and don't plan to until I leave to go
live with Him! Bob
