Larry, that billy goat story was just about the funniest thing I've read on here in quite a while. It's a good thing he hadn't eaten a bellyful of dynamite. Imagine what that lightning would might have done then! Speaking of getting hit by lightning, here's another funny story which I shared a few years ago, but many of you probably missed it. I like to watch nature shows on The Discovery Channel, and back when my daughter was about 6 or 7 years old, we were watching one such show, I think it was Planet Earth (Africa, it was about Africa). There was a pack of wild dogs; they were sort of like dingo dogs (which are indigenous to Australia -- but I digress) and anyway, these wild dogs were hunting some prey or other when a sudden thunderstorm rolled in. She asked if the dogs were going to get hit by lightning, so I started to explain, "You don't have to worry about them. A dog can't get struck by lightning. He's too close to the ground. You see, lightning strikes TALL things. Now if they was giraffes out there...." At this point she interrupted me, impatiently saying "Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. If they was giraffes, they'd be in trouble out there." --Paul Mulik _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
