Thanks for the card Allan and thanks for the link to cards from years past.
Can't see the one of you and your sone walking to the fishin' hole enough.
Also, Merry Christmas to all on the digest and Happy New Year.
You know, typing Merry Christmas brings to mind something that happened this
year. I am a civilian employee of a local municipal police department. Every
year one of the local magistrates who has white hair and a beard plays Santa
for the children of the Public Safety employees and also a large group of
children from impoverished families brought in by Social Services to see
Santa. We raise money for gifts for those children who might not get one
otherwise. About a month ago my wife was in a local dollar store and bought
something she knew I'd like (I sometimes have a little warped sense of humor).
It was a Christmas coffee mug. But apparently there was a miscommunication
between the importer and the factory in China that produced the mugs. It had a
picture of Santa that wrapped around the mug but it said "Marry Christmas". I
brought that mug to work and set up a raffle. $1.00 a piece for a chance to
win the Marry Christmas mug. Made
enough to buy 3 or 4 toys. I went back to the store to see if they had any
more but they were sold out. I wanted one for myself.
Happy Holidays everyone,
Harry in Salem, VA
