I do believe the name Crump is a very important name in Kansas...Ken
Anderson I'm not one for making fun of or making jokes about people's
names. In all the episodes of TAGS there is never a reference that I can recall
of someone making fun of someone's name..These were loving caring people who
just didnt do those sort of things.
Personally, I grew up and even in my adult years had people making fun of my
name.."Do you feel frisky today"..etc...they were apparently too dumb to know
the word they were referring to was spelled different than my name....I mean if
Ken Anderson is Ken Anders son. Then whose son is Ken Anders...you see there is
no joke in making fun of names..I love my Mayberrian friends and just like me
none of them can help what their name may sound like. While in the ministry I
did a series, some of which was posted on Mayberrytownhall, of messages using
Mayberry people as jumping off points..Later I began writing poetry about
Mayberrians and the town..the following will may show my feeling
THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW
The writers wrote and the actors spoke and Andy's philosophy rang loud
and true
"Do unto others, my good friend as you would have others do unto you"
You never know when you speak a
word
Just exactly where it will go
It may break the heart of a true friend or rekindle memories of long ago
I thank the writers who wrote from the heart
as though they were writing classic prose
for as the years slowly fall we have memories to recall
as we watch The Andy Griffith Show
you never can tell from an act you may do
just exactly what affect there may be
yet the joy we have shared from our easy chair
are the joys we found in Mayberry
There are friends we will meet and those we will greet
as along life's highway we go
No truer friends abound than in that Mayberry town
as we watch The Andy Griffith Show
