What a Mayberry experience I had yesterday. Our sheriff's department had their
annual sale of confiscated items. I went and came home with an old gypsy box
that contained tarot cards, a lantern, and a book of fortunes. So I wanted to
test it out. I got Lloyd my barber and Luber the guy who works at the quick
lube station to act as witnesses. I didn't want to be alone when I evoked the
spirit of Count Van Tamis Peli. After going through the necessary preparations
suddenly, poof, the Count was floating around in the room with us. Luber dealt
the cards and we discovered that I was granted one wish. Now getting only one
wish I wanted to make sure it was a good one. So I wished my wife was thirty
years younger than me. Well folks, I have an announcement to make. Count Van
Tamis Peli is real. I am now 94 years old. I wonder if it would have worked
better if I would have waited and done this in the back room of the Taylor Home
Inn Bed and Breakfast courthouse. I think the Count was a bit mifted with me
for evoking his spirit to a place with all this cold and snow.
