I have often wondered why the great writers at TAGS never came up with a good Valentine's Day episode. With Barney's tendencies to be rather frugal with his gift giving and dates and with his tendency to fall for every pretty girl he met, there certainly were many possibilities for great stories. Or they could have written a touching Valentine episode with Opie giving a Valentine to a special little girl or receiving one from a pretty little southern belle. Or with Helen's tendency to be quite jealous over Andy, there could have been something along those lines. Or better yet Aunt Bee could have finally met the man of her dreams and they could have written in a permanent male friend for her without her having marrying him. Or poor old Ernest T could have finally gotten married to Romaina. But alas Valentine's Day wasn't ever mentioned in Mayberry as far as I can remember. Curious curious.
