Yes, Bob, if you watch "A Case of the Punch in the Nose" when Barney runs off to get Goober to bring him back to the barber shop. It is closer to the end of the show. If you have it on DVD, slow it down and watch when Barney drives up to the Courthouse. There is another barber standing out front of the barber shop with a white apron on. It is not Howard McNear. I have slowed it down several times and he looks like a gray haired balding older man. I think that is one of the last three of the black and white shows so Howard was probably not doing as well then. "Oh, oh, he punched me, he punched me right in the nose." Higgins At the beginning of "A Date For Gomer" in season four, the opening scene shows Andy and Opie coming out of the barber shop with Andy commenting about Floyd not getting all the hairs around his neck cleared away. The barber in the shop is definitely not Howard McNear. Question is, has anybody ever seen this mystery barber in another episode?
