I have been spending considerable time looking into people who remember Patty Regen from TAGS. I have talked with several people in Eau Claire who knew her when she was a young girl. One lady I talked to lived across the street from her and told me about the wonderful sense of humor that both Patty and her mother had. After my last Mayberry presentation a lady in the audience came up to me and said she went to school with Patty here in Eau Claire and she too remembered her as a very funny person. Tonight I talked on the phone with one of Patty Regen's nieces and she gave me some names of people to contact. Her niece told me she made several trips to California to visit Patty when she was acting. She suggested I get in touch with none other than Jackie Joseph AKA Romaina. She met Jackie in California and said that she and Patty Regan were very good friends and she would be able to share a lot of information. I think I remember someone mentioning that Jackie Joseph attends Mayberry Days, so if anyone would know how I could contact her I would really appreciate it. Patty's niece also told me she has some recordings of Patty's comedy sketches and she will try to get copies for me. So I am hopeful that I will learn some interesting things about Patty Regen.
On a side note, our local ABC TV station called me and they will be interviewing me and doing some filming for their April 5 nightly news. They are very interested in seeing my Mayberry collection, my Barney outfits, and of course the squad car. I will put a link to the video once it has aired. Kenneth G.
