Alan had mentioned Pine Ridge here and on his podcast. I live in Arkansas which is where Lum and Abner - both the characters of the show and the men who played them where from.
I enjoy listening to Lum and Abner, not quite as much as I like watching Andy of course. I work on a computer and listen to the show as I work. It is a great show to listen to on roadtrips too! Todays Pine Ridge Arkansas used to be Waters Arkansas. After the show made the town famous, Waters Arkansas changed it's name to Pine Ridge which was a fictitious name that Lum and Abner had used instead of the towns real name. The show was based on the town and people of Waters Arkansas. Chester Lauck's (Lum's) father owned a general store in Waters like the one depicted in the show. There is now a museum about the Lum and Abner show in Pine Ridge Arkansas. Pine Ridge Arkansas is East of Mena between Mena and Oden.
