Brian, the gold truck route never made sense to me either. Andy did mention
that they were going in the back door. But, Mayberry was beyond the back door
and out in the alley. Seems like to me the more time spent on the road meant
more time for the bad guys to take a shot at stealing the gold. But I didn't
write the episode. Does anybody know if the Philadelphia was in operation in
the early 60's? That might have made more sense.
