The nursing home called me this morning and told me the name of the 102 year old who was at my Mayberry presentation. Her name is Martha Herr. The director thought it would be wonderful if she got cards from Mayberry fans. So if any one would like to send a card of some kind I will make sure she gets them on June 19.
I presented Mayberry to 200+ folks at the University of Wisconsin -LaCrosse yesterday as part of their annual Vital Aging Conference. What a fun day that was. I even was able to arrest a "Lady of the Evening". One of the speakers spoke about the "Oldest Profession in the World" so she dressed the part. So during our large luncheon I went up to her and pulled my gun and arrested her saying that we didn't allow that sort of thing in Mayberry. Then she let me lead her away. Folks enjoyed that bit of spontaneous entertainment. Ended up the director of the event took our picture together and wants to use it on next year's publicity material. She said she will send me a copy so hopefully I will make that available on my website and to anyone who would like to see it. So old Deputy Kenny has his own "fun girl" too.
