Not sure if this really qualifies as a "warm fuzzy" moment, but it sure gets to me every time I see it. Barney had just visited Mayberry and he has gone back to Raleigh. Andy and Aunt Bea are on the porch and Andy is reading a letter from Barney. Barney is telling them how he and one of the office girls are going to a masquerade party. When Andy finishes the letter Aunt Bea tells Andy that Barney writes a nice letter and how she misses Barney. Andy looks very sad and he says he does too and then he says, "I guess there is only the one Barney Fife." The scene closes with Aunt Bea sitting alone deep in thought; thinking I imagine of the many good times they had with Barney when he lived in Mayberry. It is such a wonderful reminder to us all how important old friends are and how there will always be an empty spot in our lives when they leave us. Can you imagine how great it would have been if Don Knotts and Andy could have somehow worked out the contract issues and Barney could have returned to Mayberry as Andy's deputy? What a great episode that would have made and we wouldn't have had to wait until 1986 for that to happen.

I also want to thank everyone who sent cards for 102 year old Martha who had a birthday back in my hometown area. We delivered the cards to her when I was back home for the parade. Unfortunately she was sleeping at the time. I guess when you get to be 102 you do that in the afternoons. Come to think about, I guess when you reach 64 you do that too. Anyway, the nurse thought it was so thoughtful for complete strangers to take the time to send the cards. Guess she doesn't really understand how great Mayberry folks really are.
