I have been away for a few days and just catching up on my digest issues. I had a couple of "fuzzy moments" but they have already been mentioned. It was a great topic Dewey. Last week my wife and I were lucky enough to spend a couple of days in Mt. Airy celebrating our 21st anniversary. We had a great time. We checked into the Hampton Inn and Lenise (the General Manager) and her staff were very friendly and accomodating. They drove us in the "Opie Bus" to Wally's Fillin Station where we took a tour of Mt. Airy in a 1964 Mayberry Squad Car. While we did hit the siren a few times Ken, we didn't run the battery down. Melvin was a great tour guide and we saw several non-TAGS sights as well. The largest open faced granite mine was impressive, along with all of the granite buildings that I hadn't really paid much attention to on my first Mt. Airy visit. Friday morning we had breakfast at the Snappy Lunch and I was most impressed by the pictures of all the celebrities who had been there. Everyone in town was sooooo friendly that we hated to leave, but we knew we would go back. It's such a fun trip, everyone should go. Harry in Salem, VA P.S. The drink cooler at Wally's did have RC's and Nehi's but apparently they were out of Nectarine Crush and Boysenberry Smash. I wanted to try those. _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
