If you want to see a Mayberry character who almost talks, check out the "Fun
Girls" episode. When Andy, Barney, and the Fun Girls arrive at the dance, the
first person Andy bumps into is Mr. Schwump. Andy speaks "Evening Mr.
Schwump". Then watch. Andy looks at Mr. Schwump. Mr. Schwump moves his
hands. Mr. Schwump screws up his face. Oh, Mr. Schwump wanted to speak so
badly in that scene.
It is my theory that Mr. Schwump actually had a line there but he was too
nervous to delever it. I remember reading somewhere that the producers of TAGS
wrote lines for Mr. Schwump into the script but he was too nervous to deliver
there.

Orville Hendricks - Selling Butter and Eggs. I had my few line, and I did not
blow them. "There's not a word of truth in that Sheriff, not a word of truth".
