I caught one of my favorite color episodes this week (yes I like the color
ones..I don’t think TAGS “jumped the shark” when Don Knotts left) on TVland.
It was the one where Opie was learning to play piano, and also play football.

Once Andy learns from a former pro football player, Flip Conroy, that a young
boy can have multiple interests, things appear to be at a happy ending.

The epilog shows Opie practicing Piano at 6:00 AM and Andy wakes up all grumpy
and asks him if he knows what time it is.

Don’t you find this odd? Andy is usually one of the first ones downtown in the
morning. He gets up and goes fishing early at times. He seems to be a morning
person. It made a good story line, but in my opinion, was a little bit
inconsistent. Did we ever see Andy sleeping in.. in the morning, other than
when he was sick?

The Untrained Voice.

“I thought it was Andy who had the subscription to Police Gazette - he told
somebody he had to cancel it because Barney had never been married – “ Lucille

Lucille, I think you are correct on the line. I was recalling when Barney got
his place at Mrs. Mendlebright’s…I thought he had a collection up there that he
offered to loan out to Andy. Upon checking my facts I found it was really
"true Blue Dectective" magazines that he had bound copies of. So I stnad
corrected on Barney influencers.

Speaking of fact checking, on One of Allan's Two Chiar No Waiting Poadcasts
which was an interview with Ken Beck and Jim Clark..it was revealed that they
wrote thier first book just from memory and broadcast episodes. no DVD, of
course..but even no VHS!! That is amazing!! No wonder we were able to expand
the list of Scwamp appearance from 8 to like 22.
