I just finished watching the Promo Clip from the Return of the Killer Shrews and it gave me an idea. Since it has been more than 20 years since Return to Mayberry came out, why not make a sequel to that called Return to Mayberry 2. It could be produced and directed by Mr. and Mrs. James Best. Now, I ask you, who has more experience in the movies than Jim? We have a ready made cast with all our tribute artists. David Browning of course would be Barney, and Art Fettig, our Almost Andy, could certainly do a stellar job as Andy Taylor. Al Newsome as Floyd is a must, and then we get all those other great tribute artists and it would be all set to go. Maggie Smith is still around as are some of the Darling Boys. Now to make it even more exciting, it could be shot in Great Britain so our good friends in the old country could enjoy it. As for the monster in the lake, why there is good old Nessie of the famed Loch Ness just waiting to be captured. Now I have to admit, Barney would probably have to use a turkey rather than a chicken to catch Nessie, but that is a minor detail that Mr. Best could certainly work around. I really think I may be on to something here. I was going to volunteer to play a roll, but if I remember correctly, neither Asa nor Jud were in Return to Mayberry, so I guess that leaves me out. I know this would be a rather costly endeavor, so I would be willing to donate all the proceeds from future sales of my book. That should bring enough in to maybe print one or two promo cards, but if we all chipped in we might be able to go with this. So what do you think folks?
