I'm surely just venting - or preaching to the choir - but why o why can't there be a network devoted to old sitcoms? Used to be you could hop on TVLand and catch all the oldies...TAGS included! I'm a huge fan of TAGS, I LOVE LUCY, THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, just to name a few, but try finding them on your 5000 channel satellite or cable system! TVLand has totally gone away from "classic TV", where they started, and now show hours and hours of recent (i.e. "junk") sitcoms mostly from the 90s and earlier this century! They even run sitcoms on TVLand that are still on regular network programming for corn's sake!
Isn't there somebody out there in tv-network-land that could put together a network of sitcoms from the 50s, 60s, even 70s that are decent for family viewing? There HAS to be a market for that... (And before you go recommending DVD's, I sometime prefer finding that hidden gem on my directv instead of messing with putting DVD's in and out of my player...altho' I'm surely getting closer and closer to that option....) There. I'm done venting - for today. Tomorrow is another story.
