It is time for the annual Mayberry Nights in Troy NC Saturday AUgust 27th 2011 but before we get to that we will be in Oakboro NC on Friday night the 26th for the Cruise In. Attending this year will Maggie Peterson "Charlene" along with her tv brother Rodney Dillard and his band the Dillard Band. Plus all the tributes: David "Mayberry Deputy" Browning Kenneth "Otis" Junkin Allan "Floyd" Newsome Phil "Ernest t Bass" Fox Bob "Briscoe" Mundy Jeff"Howard" Branch Alma"Aunt Bee" Venable Friday Augst 26 @ 8pm the mayberry crew will be in a parade downtown Oakboro NC. They have over 500 cars in town for the event. After the parade the stars will sign autographs. Saturday the annual Mayberry Nights will take place at 7pm with a silent auction of mayberry items donated by Dewey Lamb, Jeff Koontz, Jeff Branch, Jim Clark and various mayberry friends. Along with the auction the tributes will do a variety show followed by The Dillards and Maggie. This event benefits the Montgomery County DARE Program which I teach to the children in the schools. This past January I was named the 2011 DARE Officer of the year for the State of NC.
