Hey, Mayberry friends. The scene where Andy throws his gun on the couch has
always puzzled me, also. In the South, hunting is not only a sport but a
tradition and hunters I know always treat their firearms with respect.
I love it when outdoor sports are woven into TAGS storylines. Fishing is the
most popular but let's don't forget bear hunting, crow shooting, frog gigging,
there may be more, and an occasional picnic. I know a picnic isn't a sport but
Andy always took his favorite girl on a picnic by the lake. Sounds sporting to
me.
I wonder if Aunt Bee had any special wild game recipes?
