I just got home from a disastrous car show. They were interviewing me by my car with a loudspeaker system when suddenly a horrific wind storm hit us. Tents went flying all over and tables collapsed. Needless to say we spent the next half hour trying to hold down tents and vendor set ups. After the winds let up the downpour began. So we packed up and were ready to head home. They had me parked right next to our sheriff's squad car. Now is when the real fun began. The sheriff could not get his squad car started. The battery was dead. He was very good about it and really laughed when I went up to him, as he remembered that the same thing happened to me during our Memorial Day parade. I really feel sorry for the car show workers as this was a major fundraiser for the church's outreach programs. Sure hope they are able to reschedule it or they are stuck with about 20 beautiful trophies and lots of other things. Should have been in Mayberry where it rarely rains.
