>Just to give you a heads up, I have two Andy Griffith records I am donating

>to the silent auction, unless I forget and leave them home!!

Thanks Welford! Mayberry Days will be here before we know it, so I'll introduce
to our new members and remind the rest of us about the WBMUTBB Silent Auction.
This is the annual service project of our internet chapter that is fund raising
event to benefit the Surry Arts Council's efforts to host Mayberry Days. The
Silent Auction is held on Saturday of the festival from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in
front of the Andy Griffith Playhouse. For 12 years, talented and creative
members of our chapter have donated Mayberry related things to the auction -
handmade items, memorabilia, autographed items, and special one-of-a-kind
things that you can't find in the stores. We have inventoried some nice items
to date and welcome more. Donated items are tax deductible as a donation to a
non-profit organization and all the proceeds go to the Surry Arts Council.
There are three ways to help - donating an item, donating your time, and
bidding on auction items. If you do not feel
creative, you can help prepare for and during the auction. It is only a couple
hours and gives you a chance to visit with people and help out others - just
like Mayberry! Bidding is from 10 a.m. to Noon and you must be present at the
end to claim and pay for your item. If you have something to donate, have a
question, or want more specific information, please send me an email. I thank
each of you who have helped in the previous years and hope you will be able to
help again. Even more I encourage others to get involved as well. This is a fun
way to help and get to know fellow Digest members in person. It's Big!

Jeff
